TERM 4 SEWING WORKSHOP FOR TWEENS AND TEENS

Option 1: Beginner Projects

We'll cover the absolute basics and get you sewing your first project! After learning how to use the machine and sew straight, we can start simple projects.

Possible Projects:

Tote Bag
PJ pants or shorts
Elastic Skirt
Zippered Pouch

Allow 2-3 sessions for each beginner project.

Option 2: BYO Project

Already got the basics covered?

BYO pattern and fabric, or choose from a range of more advanced beginner projects. Some fabric available - but please BYO for a specific type.

Each workshop runs for 2 hours, with plenty of time for breaks and to go at your own pace.

Please bring:

appropriate material for your project - ask Lucy if not sure!
your pattern pieces and instructions
any extra pieces required for your project, e.g. zippers, elastic, trim

What's provided:

individual sewing machines
basic tools e.g. pins, fabric scissors, tailor's chalk etc
rotary cutter and cutting mat
iron
overlocker
black and white thread
guidance with your project
tea and coffee

About me: Hi I'm Lucy! Secondary teacher and sewing enthusiast, I love helping people learn a new skill and confidence in something they've never tried before. I've been told I'm incredibly patient, calm and personable; perfect ingredients for a cosy vibe right? I would love to teach fresh beginners to intermediates who are looking to learn a new technique.
