TERM 1 SEWING WORKSHOP FOR ADULTS

Option 1: JUST TELL ME WHAT TO SEW

We'll cover the absolute basics and get you sewing your first project! After learning how to use the machine and sew straight, we can start simple projects.

• Custom tote bag 
• zippered coin purse or make up bag
• PJ shorts or simple clothes 

Option 2: BYO Project 

Already got the basics covered? 

BYO project or I'll suggest a range of more advanced beginner projects. Some fabric available - but please BYO for a specific project. 

Some ideas:

• clothes to mend
• unfinished projects
• upcycling 
• mix & match to make patchwork 

Each workshop runs for 2 hours, with plenty of time for breaks and to go at your own pace. 

Please bring: 

• appropriate material for your project - ask Lucy if not sure!
• your pattern pieces and instructions 
• any extra pieces required for your project, e.g. zippers, elastic, trim

What's provided:

• individual sewing machines 
• basic tools e.g. pins, fabric scissors, tailor's chalk etc
• rotary cutter and cutting mat 
• iron 
• overlocker 
• black and white thread 
• guidance with your project
• tea and coffee

About me: Hi I'm Lucy! Secondary teacher and sewing enthusiast, I love helping people learn a new skill and confidence in something they've never tried before. I've been told I'm incredibly patient, calm and personable; perfect ingredients for a cosy vibe right? I would love to teach fresh beginners to intermediates who are looking to learn a new technique.
