Join us Tuesday evening for a supportive and sustainability-minded mending workshop that encourages creativity, while helping you refresh and extend the life of your clothes!
Instead of throwing away or building a pile of clothes that need fixing, learn the skills yourself! It's a great sense of accomplishment, allows us to maintain quality clothing, and helps you save money.
This term we will learn different mending techniques each week, essential for general repairs that you can do yourself!
- different hand sewing stitches
- using iron-on patches
- fixing buttons
- decorative mending
- darning jumpers and socks
- simple hemming
Under the guidance of teaching sewist and maker Lucy Ho, participants will learn the process of mending, gaining new skills that can be applied to your own wardrobe at home! The goal is to learn useful skills in a relaxed environment, a finished product is not guaranteed.
All materials provided - threads, needles, simple buttons, fabric scraps.
Please bring:
- 1-2 garments each week that need repair
This workshop is suitable for those aged 14+.
